Candidates can check the UGC NET result through the official NTA portal. The June 2026 result has been declared, and the portal also provides a separate scorecard link for candidates who appeared in the re-examination of English, Commerce, and Sociology.

The official links are listed below for quick access.

Candidates should select the relevant session and use their application number and the credentials requested on the login page. The official website is the safest source for downloading the scorecard.

UGC NET Result 2026 Release Date

The UGC NET result release date depends on the examination session. NTA has declared the results for the June 2026 examination, including a separate result for the re-examination of English, Commerce, and Sociology. The result date for the December 2026 session should be confirmed through an official NTA announcement.

The following table provides the available result-related dates.

Candidates waiting for the December session should avoid relying on unofficial expected dates. NTA may publish the result schedule through a public notice after the examination and evaluation process.

UGC NET Result 2026 Expected Date

The expected date for the UGC NET December 2026 result cannot be confirmed until NTA announces an official schedule. Candidates can monitor the examination calendar, answer key notices, and result-related announcements to understand the progress of the examination process.

The result is generally declared after the examination, provisional answer key challenge process, and evaluation. However, the time required can vary between sessions, particularly when re-examinations or other administrative requirements are involved.

To stay updated, candidates should:

• Check the official UGC NET website regularly.

• Follow announcements about provisional and final answer keys.

• Look for the official result declaration notice.

• Keep their application number and login credentials accessible.

• Avoid treating estimated dates published by unofficial websites as confirmed dates.

Details Mentioned on the UGC NET Scorecard

The UGC NET scorecard provides information that candidates need to verify after the result is announced. It helps establish their examination performance and whether they have qualified under the applicable eligibility category.

The scorecard may contain the following details:

• Candidate’s name and application number.

• Roll number and examination details.

• Subject and category information.

• Marks or scores obtained.

• Qualification status for the applicable category.

• Other examination-related information specified by NTA.

Candidates should verify their personal details and qualification status carefully. If they notice a discrepancy, they should consult the official notice or contact NTA through its published support channels.

UGC NET Result 2026: Qualifying Criteria and Cut-Off Marks

The UGC NET qualifying criteria depend on the applicable examination rules, subject, category, and eligibility category. Meeting the minimum qualifying marks does not automatically guarantee selection for JRF or Assistant Professor eligibility because the applicable merit and cut-off requirements must also be satisfied.

For the standard aggregate minimum, candidates generally need at least 40% marks across both papers for the General category and 35% for reserved categories specified in the rules. The final qualifying cut-off varies by subject and category.

The distinction between minimum marks and the final cut-off is important.

Candidates should download the official subject-wise and category-wise cut-off PDF for their examination session. The cut-off for one session should not be assumed to apply to another session.

What to Do After the UGC NET Result 2026?

After checking the result, candidates should determine their qualification category and follow the next steps applicable to them. Qualifying for UGC NET does not mean that every candidate receives a JRF award or immediate appointment to an academic position.

Candidates who qualify should:

• Download and preserve their scorecard.

• Check the relevant cut-off and qualification category.

• Follow official announcements about e-certificates and JRF award letters, where applicable.

• Review university recruitment notifications if applying for Assistant Professor positions.

• Check PhD admission notices and eligibility conditions if seeking doctoral admission.

Candidates who do not qualify can use their scorecard and response analysis to identify areas that need improvement. Practising previous-year question papers and taking topic-wise mock tests can help strengthen preparation for the next session.
